INACTIVATED CHICK ND

Newcastle Disease Vaccine, Inactivated, LaSota strain for Chicks

For Baby Chicks

Indications
This vaccine has been developed specifically for use in young chicks in geographical areas where highly pathogenic Newcastle Disease is endemic. It is recommended for subcutaneous injection in one day old chicks. It is to be used in conjunction with the intraocular use of LaSota strain of live virus Newcastle Disease vaccine. Depending on the prevalence of Newcastle Disease, this vaccination program may be used as late as 10 days of age.

Description
Is produced with a high concentration of a high tittering strain of Newcastle Disease virus, suspended in a stable oil emulsion. When injected, the oil emulsion controls the absorption of the virus and enhances the development of high levels of immunity. The product meets rigid 'Quality Control' standards of Purity, Safety and Potency as per individual monographs of viral vaccines of B.P. (Vet).

Composition
Each dose contains not less than a pre-inactivation titer of 1 x 108.5 EID50 of Newcastle Disease virus.

Advantages

It is a specialty vaccine designed for use in young chicks. It stimulates high titers against Newcastle Disease that are sustained to provide lasting protection.

Dosage & Administration
When given at 1 to 10 days of age in conjunction with live virus Newcastle Disease vaccine, it neutralizes the parental antibody that is present in the chicks and enables the live virus vaccine to replicate and provide rapid immunity to the chick. This protects the chick until the immune system responds to the killed virus oil emulsion vaccine, which provides higher and longer lasting levels of active immunity. Dosage is 0.1 ml (1/10 ml) per chick. Vaccine should be brought to room temperature before use. Inject subcutaneously in the lower neck region using aseptic technique. Inject all birds in flock.

Warning: Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

Caution
The capability of this vaccine to produce satisfactory results depends upon many factors, including - but not limited to - conditions of storage and handling by the user, administration of the vaccine, health and responsiveness of individual chickens, and degree of field exposure. Therefore, directions for use should be followed carefully.
