INACTIVATED EDS

Egg Drop Syndrome Vaccine, Inactivated, Adenovirus 76 strain

For Breeder Hens and Commercial Layers

Indications
This vaccine has been developed for use in breeder hens and commercial layers to protect against Egg Drop Syndrome. A single vaccination given at least 4 weeks prior to the onset of egg production, produces high levels of immunity to protect the flock throughout the laying period, especially in areas having incidence of EDS outbreaks.

Description
Is produced with a high concentration of EDS 76 virus, suspended in a stable oil emulsion. A large amount of antigen is provided in a 1/2 ml dose. When injected, the oil emulsion controls the absorption of the virus and greatly enhances the development of high levels of immunity. The product meets rigid 'Quality Control' standards of Purity, Safety and Potency as per individual monographs of viral vaccines of B.P. (Vet).

Composition
Each dose contains not less than 2000 hemagglutinating units of inactivated adenovirus.

Advantages
It is completely safe because it contains no living organism. It can safely be administered to chickens 12 weeks of age or older. It cannot spread from vaccinated to susceptible flocks. The immunity produced is of long duration.

Vaccination Recommendation
Breeder Hens & Commercial Layers: Vaccinate between 12 to 18 weeks of age. Dosage is 0.5 ml. per bird. Vaccine should be brought to room temperature before use. Inject subcutaneously in the lower neck region using aseptic technique. Inject all birds in the flock.

Warning: Do not vaccinate within 42 days before slaughter.

Caution
The capability of this vaccine to produce satisfactory results depends upon many factors, including - but not limited to - conditions of storage and handling by the user, administration of the vaccine, health and responsiveness of individual chickens, and degree of field exposure. Therefore, directions for use should be followed carefully.
