Avian Infectious Bronchitis Vaccine, Inactivated, Massachusetts Type H52 strain

For Breeder Hens

This vaccine has been developed for use in breeder hens and commercial layers to give broad protection against different strains of infectious bronchitis virus. When injected, the vaccine produces a high level of circulating antibody (humoral immunity) which is maintained throughout the production cycle. This provides high levels of parental immunity in the progeny. This is the only way to provide protection during the critical first few days of life. Infection with bronchitis during the egg production cycle causes loss of egg production and decreases the profitability of the flock.

The vaccine is produced with Massachusetts strains of Infectious Bronchitis virus. Since there is very poor cross pro-tection between the different strains of Bronchitis virus, the Massachusetts strain of IB virus incorporated in this vaccine provide for broader protection. This is the most serious and common bronchitis strain that infect chicken flocks. When injected, the oil emulsion controls the absorption of the virus and greatly enhances the development of high levels of immunity. The product meets rigid 'Quality Control' standards of Purity, Safety and Potency as per individual monographs of viral vaccines of B.P. (Vet).

Each dose contains not less than a pre-inactivation titer of 1 X 106.9 EID50 of Avian Infectious Bronchitis virus.

It provides a broader range of protection than other commercial vaccines. This killed virus vaccine in oil emulsion provides more consistent high titers throughout the production period than the live virus vaccines. The IB virus is very contagious and can recycle within the flock. This can cause loss of egg production without symptoms. This vaccine protects the reproductive system against homologous strains and prevents such egg losses. The vaccine is completely safe because it contains no living virus. It can be safely administered at any age. It cannot be spread from vaccinated to susceptible flocks. It provides high and persistent levels of antibody in the dams to provide parental immunity to the progeny.

Dosage & Administration
Birds should be "primed" with mild or intermediate strains of live virus bronchitis vaccine at least 4 weeks prior to the use of this vaccine. Vaccinate with this vaccine between 16 and 20 weeks of age. If birds are held for a second year, revaccinate during molt. Dosage is 1/2 ml (0.5 ml) per bird. Vaccine should be brought to room temperature before use. Inject subcutaneously in the lower neck region using aseptic technique. Inject all birds in flock.

Warning: Do not vaccinate within 42 days before slaughter

The capability of this vaccine to produce satisfactory results depends upon many factors, including - but not limited to - conditions of storage and handling by the user, administration of the vaccine, health and responsiveness of individual chickens, and degree of field exposure. Therefore, directions for use should be followed carefully.

  • Do not use chemical disinfectants for sterilsation
  • Remove the vaccine from refrigerator at least 1 day before vaccination for better results
  • Use entire contents
  • Shake well before and during use
  • Vaccinate only healthy birds
  • Use entire contents of bottle when first opened
  • For veterinary use only
