Newcastle Disease Vaccine, Live, B1 strain (Lentogenic)

It is recommended for vaccination of chickens against Newcastle disease for both, initial vaccination and revaccination.

It is a live, CEO vaccine wherein the virus strain is cultivated in SPF eggs. It has been lyophilized (freeze-dried) in vials and sealed under vacuum to preserve stability. It is supplied with diluent.The product meets rigid 'Quality Control' standards of Purity, Safety and Potency as per individual monographs of viral vaccines of B.P. (Vet).

Each dose contains not less than 106 EID50 B1 strain, Newcastle Disease Virus.

Vaccination Schedule
This vaccine is recommended for use at 1 day of age or older. A second dose can be given at 2 weeks of age or older. For replacement pullets, it can be used for booster vaccination between 16 and 18 weeks of age.

Vaccination Methods
  • Drinking Water Method
    Drinking water vaccination should be done during the cooler part of the day. Remove any disinfectant or sanitizer from the drinking water for 24 hours, prior to and after vaccination. Rinse all waterers with clean water prior to vaccination. Withhold drinking water for at least one hour prior to vaccination, to allow birds to get thirsty. Mix vaccine in the drinking water according to the schedule mentioned in the pack insert, supplied with the vaccine. Provide ample drinking water space to all the birds. Do not use chlorinated water.
  • Intraocular Method
    Rehydrate the vaccine with the diluent provided. Place the dropper over the vial containing the rehydrated vaccine. Hold the chick with one eye turned up. Put one drop of vaccine into the open eye and hold until bird swallows.
  • Intranasal Method
    Rehydrate the vaccine with the diluent provided. Place the dropper over thevial containing the rehydrated vaccine. Hold the chick with one eye turned up. Place one finger over one nostril. Instill one drop of vaccine into the open nostril and hold until bird breathes in the drop.
  • Coarse Spray Method
    Close all windows, doors, ventilators, etc., and turn off fans. Rehydrate according to the directions of the field sprayer manufacturer. Spray the vaccine to the number of birds as per the number of doses specified on label. Leave the house closed for at least 15 minutes after spraying.

Vaccination Reaction
When used for primary vaccination in thefirst week, least respiratory symptoms are seen, which vary depending upon the age and the level of parental immunity in the chicks. While birds are going through the reaction period, keep them comfortable by providing adequate heat and good ventilation.

  • Do not rehydrate vaccine until ready for use
  • Use the sterile diluents supplied with the vaccine only
  • Vaccinate only healthy birds
  • Use entire contents of the vial when first opened
  • Burn all used vials and unused contents
  • Do not vaccinate during 21 days before slaughter
  • Do not use chemical disinfectants for sterilization
  • Keep vaccine in ice bath during the entire vaccination period
  • Reconstituted vaccine should be used immediately
  • For veterinary use only

Packaging & Storage
This vaccine is lyophilized and packed 10 vials per box. It is available in 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 2500 doses per vial with diluent.
Store between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
